Born and raised in Hong Kong, Joyce Lee started learning the violin at the age of five and entered the Junior Music Program of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts a year later. With several scholarships, she studied at the academy with Professor Michael Ma and graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Hons) Degree in 2021. She later obtained her Master degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, under the tutelage of Professor Simon Fischer.
As an active musician, she has led in many youth orchestras and toured to Europe for concert performances. She has worked with the Shanghai String Quartet, Orion String Quartet, Endellion String Quartet and Calidore String Quartet. She is also keen on doing community service. As a member of the SAR Philharmonic Orchestra and London City Philharmonic, she regularly plays in charity concerts. As part of the HKAPA and Guildhall orchestra, she had played side-by-side with the Hong Kong Philharmonic conducted by Jaap Van Zweden, and the London Symphony Orchestra. She had also participated in numerous music festivals in the U.S, Germany, Ireland and Taiwan, where she had masterclasses with Jan Mark Sloman, Ryan Meehan and Solenne Paidassi.
