Tell us a little bit about yourself and your life. Not necessarily music-related!

I’m a Norwegian, now studying in Glasgow. When I don’t play trumpet I’m either knitting, working out or saving the planet just a little bit.

How did you first get into music?

A bit before I turned 7, I joined the local youth brass band on cornet. I grew up in brass bands, and it’s still my guilty pleasure.

What made you decide that music would be an important part of your life?

I just had no idea what else I would do, so I went for music.

What has been your musical highlight so far?

I don’t think I can pick one, but the first time I played in a symphony orchestra left a big impression. The feeling of being a part of such a sound was incredible!

Who are your favourite composers/artists/musicians?

I enjoy everything with a big brass section, from Mahler to Maynard Ferguson. And a touch of Norwegian indie pop and rap. Discover Weekly on Spotify is genius.

What do you anticipate for the Nevis Ensemble?

I hope I will experience music in a way I haven’t before. And I hope someone else will experience something they haven’t experienced before because of the Nevis Ensemble.
