Originally from East London, Emily is a graduate of both the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, completing her Bachelor of Music (Honours) and Master of Music (Distinction) degrees respectively. In 2020, Emily furthered her studies by attending The Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland as part of the ERASMUS+ programme. Whilst studying in Wales, she was the recipient of a ‘Universal Music UK Sound Foundation’ Scholarship and gained places on apprenticeship schemes with the Welsh National Opera and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.
Since moving back to Glasgow, Emily continues to work as a freelance musician in both orchestral and chamber music settings and has recently become the conductor and instrumental teacher for the King’s Park Youth Brass Band.
Having developed an interest in the use of music as a tool for enhancing quality of life, Emily is passionate about ensuring live music is accessible to everyone and is excited to participate in the Nevis Fellowship this year.
