Charlotte Perkins

Charlotte Perkins is an American violinist and conductor. Believing deeply in the transformative power of music, Charlotte focuses her creative and administrative efforts on community projects. She has worked for the Scottish Chamber Orchestra’s Creative Learning department, served as leader and assistant conductor with the St Andrews and Fife Community Orchestra, and music-directed an embarrassing quantity of Gilbert and Sullivan operettas.

Charlotte’s primary violin teachers include Timothy Kantor, Feargus Hetherington, and Alicia Casey, and she studies conducting with Holly Mathieson.

Somewhat incongruously, Charlotte holds a first-class degree in International Relations from the University of St Andrews, where she specialised in political theory and philosophy.
