Tell us a little bit about yourself and your life. Not necessarily music-related!
I am a self employed, freelance musician based in Glasgow, I play many different styles of music, and also enjoy playing sport and walking the dog.
How did you first get into music?
I started on the violin in junior school, because my older sister played and it looked fun.
What made you decide that music would be an important part of your life?
It wasn’t really a conscious decision, it always has been a big part of my life, and when I was finishing at school it was the only thing I was any good at so it seemed like the logical thing to pursue.
What has been your musical highlight so far?
Very difficult question, there have been so many special moments as a performer and audience member I’d have to give you a very long list!
Who are your favourite composers/artists/musicians?
Again, I’d maybe have to write you a small essay on this, or we could chat for hours about it during the tour!
What do you anticipate for the Nevis Ensemble?
I’m looking forward to being part of an open minded, fun and inclusive orchestral experience, and performing in some diverse environments. I’m especially looking forward to playing for the audiences that wouldn’t usually get an opportunity to see classical music live.
