For her #100DaysOfGreenNevis project, Nevis clarinetist, Helene Lunde Heggstad is creating a Spotify playlist with music related to all things environmental.

“For the #100DaysofGreenNevis campaign I am making a Spotify playlist, adding one song every day for 100 days. All the tracks in the playlist are somehow related to our planet and its changing climate.
When I first started planning making this list, it turned out quite sad and dark. My intention was never to make a depressing playlist, so I had to rethink the meaning of this project! My goal is to make a list that is nice to listen to, hopefully a wee bit inspiring, and with a good bit of humour.

Already, there are songs about the beauty of nature and its fauna, but also music with themes like the future and destruction. Don’t worry, I will add some encouragement in there as well!
I will do my best to create a varied list with different genres and moods. Feel free to listen, follow and enjoy!
In addition to the playlist, I will post pictures in the tree map!“
From 1 February 2021, Nevis is running #100DaysOfGreenNevis, where our musicians, staff and trustees will each take on a task for 100 days linked to Sustainability. We’d love you to join us, either by following the campaign online to get ideas of what you can do, or to show us you own actions for us to share. If you would like to know more, do get in touch at georgina@nevisensemble.org
Nevis Ensemble’s #GreenNevis campaign in 2019 won the Environmental Sustainability award at the 2020 Scottish Awards for New Music, and was shortlisted for Best Campaign by Julie’s Bicycle.
