For her #100DaysOfGreenNevis project, trumpet player Guro Skullerud is learning new habits and finding out exactly how she can make changes.

“Climate change, sustainability and choosing eco-friendly has been important to me for many years. I stopped eating meat in January 2015, and today I eat mostly plant-based foods. So, with #100DaysOfGreenNevis I really want to challenge myself to see what other things I can do to make my footprint smaller.
I’ve committed to going through my habits and things, investigate what is sustainable and what isn’t, and then see what I can swap or change. But most important, I really want to learn more about why!
My first week focused on waste, and I’ll continue looking more into plastic.“

From 1 February 2021, Nevis is running #100DaysOfGreenNevis, where our musicians, staff and trustees will each take on a task for 100 days linked to Sustainability. We’d love for members of the public to join us, either by following the campaign online to get ideas of what they can do, or to show us their own actions for us to share. If you would like to know more, do get in touch at georgina@nevisensemble.org
Nevis Ensemble’s #GreenNevis campaign in 2019 won the Environmental Sustainability award at the 2020 Scottish Awards for New Music, and was shortlisted for Best Campaign by Julie’s Bicycle.
